Abundance of Projects

I think that Jason and I have too many projects going on right now!
Here's the list:

Tiling- We just bought some beautiful slate colored tile to go in our basement entry way and closet.

Doors- Last weekend Menards had a sale on doors so we picked up two closet doors for our basement closets and a bedroom door for my craft room in the basement. Jason stained those this week and is currently working on the frames so that they will fit correctly.

Fire Pit- This is a landscaping project that I have been working on. We put in a stone fire pit/patio that I would like to landscape around. It's been so hot, I have not wanted to be working outside but I think Im going to dig up the sod tomorrow. and continue this project.

Shed- Jason and my very handy dad are going to be putting up a shed this weekend and next week while I am gone. My dad already has the rafters built and Jason is working on leveling the ground. He will be sooo happy when this is finished! We have a one stall garage and a tiny little shed. It will be nice for him to have a place to store more of the yard tools.

Sealing off the well room- There is a very small 4x4x4 room in our basement that has water leaking into it. It was the area where our well used to be (our house used to be outside city limits). This needs to be fixed. We got a very reasonable quote and they are going to come break apart the concrete and seal the room off from our home forever! I can't wait for that to be fixed I think it will help with the musty smell in the basement. Plus, water is never good for a home.

Photo Wall- I'm working on a photo collage for our living room. I went through all of my parents pictures and found some great old photos of my grandparents and many other family members. I have collected a few of the frames and need to spray paint them and get quite a few more. I'm also going to print the pictures in B & W. It might take a while to edit them. It will be a pretty precious thing when it is finished. :)

So, we have a lot going on at the Seath home!

Wiped out

Today was a beautiful MN day. The dew points were back to normal and it was about 85 all day. We went out there and played some sand volleyball tonight. Our team is pretty decent but we never seem to have the same players so we lack a little on consistency but it's coming along. We lost two and won the last game. You win some and you lose some.
I also did my second day of P90X Yoga. I did it last week and sweat my butt off and it didn't get any easier this week! It's an hour and a half long. The first half consists of nonstop yoga poses, in and out of plank and downward facing dog and warrior... I haven't sweat that much yet! The second half is when you do the balance poses like tree and triangle, etc. Then you finish off with some core work. It's tough but I can tell it is going to be worth it.
To top the night off, Kara and I went to Morehouse park on a short walk, jogged a little bit and climbed on the playground equipment. We need to get ready for our big Warrior Dash somehow! It was a good night and VERY sweaty day for me!
It's nice to be active and does a body good!
I'm still sticking to eating well too. :)  Although Kara twisted my arm to have a frozen lemonade cocktail... You have to splurge sometimes and today I think I did enough to burn it off!!
I think tomorrow I might just stick to some yard work and taking the dog for a run. It's supposed to be beautiful again. ;)

Me

I am a 29 year old young lady ;) who loves life and everything about it. I have a ridiculous amount of curiosity and yearning to want to learn MORE. My curiosity continues to allow me to learn about new things, meet unique people, and experience new places. I would like to say that it has allowed me to become very open minded. I love writing and my mind is very restless so I thought that a blog would be a great tool to help keep my sanity and share my life with others. I also have loved the idea of journaling but never really stuck to it so I'm hoping that the connectivity of a blog will help to encourage my willingness to document my life's adventures! It can be pretty lame and a whirlwind of excitement all in the same day. Thanks for reading!

Simple Joys

This page is designated to all of the random crafts and projects from the past, present and future!

Some of my hobbies that I might post about include:

Sewing- This is something that my mom loves doing and I enjoy working on projects with her.

Painting- My friend Jenn has started painting lately and she turned me on to the idea.

Gardening- My friend Kara and I both love our flowers! We continue adding more and sharing.

Cross Stitch- I haven't worked on this so much lately but I have a few unfinished projects that I would like to complete.

Scrapbooking- Same as above, I have put this by the wayside but have quite a few materials and kits I have purchased that I would like to put together.

Photography- I don't do this too much but occasionally I'll get the urge to go hiking and take some pictures.

Decorating- I love to come up with unique ways to decorate our home.

Reading- I just finished The Hunger Games Series and loved it! I'm working on WICKED right now.

Baking- My friend Kara and I love to bake. I enjoy the decorating and taste testing the most!

Repurposing- I love thrift store shopping and finding something old and turning it into something new!

Wow! I apparently like to do things with my hands and have a few hobbies I enjoy... Stay tuned for the next project.

Health

I have recently started running. Here is a list of my accomplishments so far.

St. Peter Halloween Fun Run- 5K Oct. 2010

Des Moines, IA Dam to Dam 20K- June 2011

 Brianne and I

Brianne, me, Nathan and a friend of Nathan's

I will be running in the Warrior Dash this July 2011.

During each of these I wasn't able to run more that 1.5 miles consecutively and tended to run/walk toward the end of the pack but I always finished. I would love to be able to complete a race while running the entire time and be able to hold my own leading the middle of the pack!

I love to play volleyball. I play on a coed and women's team each week. We also have just purchased P90X. My husband, Jason and I are on Day 3 of the program. We plan to see it through and can already feel it working! I know I will be posting about that! Feel free to follow us.

Day 3

It's Day 3 of P90X and my body is feeling it. It's extra hard because I'm trying to fit in running too. My friend Kara and I are going to do the Warrior Dash. It's a 3 mile course filled with fire, slip and slides, mud and cargo nets. I have no idea how she convinced me of this! Well, I do. I generally can't back down from a challenge. I think I can do it. I just completed a 20K. I can do this. Can you tell I am trying to convince myself? I guess the reason why I am more nervous for this one is because there are obstacles which require upper body strength and lifting your own body. Well, my body is not exactly small and my biceps are not exactly big. So thank goodness for P90X. Do you think 2 weeks of working out will help? It can't hurt. I said I was going to do this, and I will. So... time to go downstairs and press PLAY.

P90X

I did it. I just bought P90X. I've heard a lot of great things about this program. I plan to follow the workout program the best that I can for the next 47 days! That's about half way through the program.  We are going to Mexico for our 5 year wedding anniversary and I can't wait! However, I can wait to put on a swimsuit. I need to chisel down my thighs, and stomach BIG TIME in that amount of time. I can do it!
